Jammu & Kashmir 2014 Lok Sabha Elections

Compiled from Various Sources
24 April 2014
Some key aspects of the 2014 Lok Sabha Polls compiled from various sources:

The state of Jammu & Kashmir has six parliamentary constituencies of which one is in sparsely populated Ladakh, two in the Jammu region and three in the Kashmir Valley. The layout of the constituencies reflects the geography and the natural divisions of the state.

Traditionally, voters in Ladakh turn out in large numbers to vote while the turnout in the Valley is generally low mainly because of terrorist threats and anti-poll campaigns carried out by separatist groups. The turnout in the Jammu region varies but is usually much higher than that of the Valley.
