Delhi Demonising Kashmiri Leaders: Malik21 August 2017
Srinagar: Terming as 'ridiculous' the assertions made by union home and finance ministers about Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik on Monday alleged that the ministers are 'using Kashmir card to bluff public opinion.' 'Everything, including demonetisation that is harming people in India, is being justified in the name of Kashmir. NIA is being used to malign the Kashmiri leadership,' Malik alleged in a statement. He said, 'One minister is taking credit for weakening the movement in Kashmir by NIA threat and another in a pursuit to justify much-criticised demonetisation is saying that this so-called fading of Kashmir movement is because of it. These ministers are actually trying to befool and bluff public opinion by playing anti-Kashmir card and hence trying to put their failures under the carpet.' 'The assertion that NIA is a threat to Kashmir movement is an admission of it being used as a tool of oppression,' the JKLF chief said. 'This claim has actually vindicated our stand that rulers are using their agencies as a tool for achieving their political goals. About one billion people of India have been affected by demonetisation and even in India many economists term the move as detrimental to Indian economy. But look at the naivety of ministers who are bluffing people by attaching Kashmir to it and falsely claiming that this policy has weakened Kashmir movement,' he added. 'Demonising Kashmiri leaders has been a long ploy of rulers who level allegations against leadership and propagate these false and fabricated allegations through Joseph Goebbels inspired media. In fact all oppressive regimes use these tactics against freedom fighters and if one thoroughly studies the history of Indian freedom movement, he would find similar kind of tactics and allegations leveled against freedom fighters of that time also,' Malik said, adding that 'RSS-inspired- and-launched-people can only think on the lines of Hitler and Masoulini as these tyrants are their inspiration and because these people even during Indian freedom struggle worked as collaborators of British occupation. One can only feel pity on the naivety of people who think that by putting some people in jails and casting doubts on their integrity through biased media, they can defeat a movement that involves a whole nation.' He said: 'From 1947, people of Jammu and Kashmir have witnessed massacres, mass arrests, beatings, killings, vandalizing, blinding and destruction. In '90s, New Delhi launched operation catch and kill, operation tiger, operation Ikhwanis and so on to crush Kashmiris. This democracy killed thousands with impunity, tortured thousands and buried thousands in unmarked graves. It jailed hundreds and thousands and destroyed many a dozen villages and towns, hanged father of Kashmiri nation Muhammad Maqbool Butt in Tihar jail and repeated this by hanging Muhammad Afzal Guru in same manner. This nation claiming Ghandi to be its leader, crushed peaceful people's revolutions in 2008, 2010 and 2016 by killings, blinding, vandalizing, unleashing terror and caging thousands of young and old but all this Hitlerism failed in defeating the people's struggle in past and is bound to fail in future too.' Malik said: 'A nation that is withstanding the oppression of all sorts from past 70 years cannot be defeated by such mean claims and political stunts. This is a people's movement, a people's struggle and every Kashmiri is a part of this sacred struggle, therefore dreaming to defeat this mass movement is nothing but day dreaming.'
