Kashmiri Boy Chosen For Officer Training Directly From NCC

Srinagar: In a special case, a Kashmiri boy has been selected for training as a Commissioned Officer in the Army directly in view of his extraordinary performance in the NCC as a cadet. 'NCC Cadet Javeed Ahmad Parrey, hailing from Bandipora district, has made the entire (Kashmir) valley proud by being selected to undergo training for Commissioned Officer in Indian Army,' said the Army spokesman in a statement. He said Parrey is the only NCC cadet from Jammu and Kashmir to be selected for the 39th course of NCC Special Entry Scheme for Officers Training Academy, Chennai. 'Parrey joined the NCC in 2011 and with hard work and selfless dedication, he made his way to this success by undergoing NCC training and qualifying for 'B' and 'C' Certificate under NCC Group Headquarters Srinagar,' the spokesman said. 'NCC Group Headquarter Srinagar is confident that this particular success will make the NCC more popular among youth of Kashmir valley and more number of students will come forward to join NCC in the future,' he added.
