Jammu: Independent Jammu & Kashmir MLA Engineer Rashid was allegedly attacked by right-wing activists in Doda district on Wednesday. This is the third attack on him since he was roughed up during proceedings of assembly session here on October 8. Police sources said the independent MLA from Langate was in Bhaderwah for some meetings when the attack took place. He got away without any serious injury. Sources said that when he was on his way to attend a meeting, his cavalcade was attacked by a group of Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal activists. They stoned his car while shouting slogans and threw ink. The windshield was smashed. One of the protestors said, 'We threw ink on Rashid's cavalcade and waved black flags to register protest against him for throwing a beef party in Srinagar. Such a person cannot be allowed in Bhaderwah or in any part of Doda district.' Rashid expressed concern over the growing 'intolerance' by right-wing forces.
