New Breed Of Militants Post Photos On Facebook

Srinagar: Security agencies in South Kashmir are on toes from last few days after the photographs of armed militants, donning Army fatigues, appeared on social networking site like facebook. Police sources said that a newly created facebook account by militants carried two photographs showing around 15 militants. 'The photographs probably taken in some forest area or in an orchard were shared by hundreds of facebook users on their personal accounts,' said a police official. He said that police have identified almost all the militants available in the photograph. 'Naseer Ahmed Pandit and his three associates, Bilal Ahmed Bhat, Tariq Ahmed Pandit and Afaq Ahmed Bhat, all residents of Karimabad Pulwama have been spotted in the photographs, according to a report by CNS. Reliable police sources said that the from past few months militant outfit Hizb has been very active and the outfit has managed to lure the youth from different parts of South Kashmir to join the organization. 'Number of youth went missing in different districts of South Kashmir from past two months. The missing reports of these youth stand registered in different police stations and now the Intelligence agencies have confirmed the joining of these youth into militant organization Hizb.' Police said that the HM Divisional Commander for South Kashmir Burhan Ahmed Wani , a resident of Sahrifabad Tral town has also been spotted by the security agencies in these photographs. 'These photographs appeared on fb account 'Lovers of Rizwan Bhai' and quickly the users either shared or copy pasted these photographs. The group of armed militants posing in such style is not new but what is disturbing that most of the militants available in the photographs are young and newly recruited,' said a top security official.
