DevenderRana Pursuing RSS Agenda, Says Malik
2 February 2015
: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik Monday termed the National Conference provincial president Devender Singh Rana's statement advocating regional autonomy for Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh as 'a conspiracy against Kashmir' and said 'it is actually the RSS agenda for which pro-India parties in the state are actively working.' Malik said Rana's statement is 'actually RSS formula created to destroy Jammu and Kashmir and harm its special status.' 'Rana's brother is a minister in Modi-led BJP government and the two brothers are two sides of the same coin. Rana's call for devolution of powers to elected autonomous regional administrative set-ups is actually pursuing RSS agenda,' he said, adding, 'Creating three states within J&K is the RSS ploy. New Delhi has communally polarized Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. The puppet MLAs-whether from PDP, NC, Congress, BJP or any other party-are all part of this conspiracy.' Lashing out at New Delhi and J&K's pro-India parties, he said, 'In 1947, when lakhs of Muslims were massacred by Hindu fanatics in Jammu, not even a single non-Muslim was touched in Kashmir. The Hindu fanatics have been persecuting Muslims in Jammu from 1947. Same is the case of Ladakh region where there has been no problem in the past. But for the past few years, fanatics patronized by New Delhi have started communalizing the situation there. Kashmiri Muslims always helped people of Ladakh. But now they are also being pitted against Kashmiris by these fanatics which is unfortunate and most condemnable,' he said. Malik said in 1947 when the sub-continent was engulfed in communal riots, Mahatma Gandhi could see a ray of hope from Kashmir because Kashmiri Muslims never harmed any non-Muslim despite provocations. Meanwhile, Malik again slammed PDP leader and MP MuzaffarHussainBeig's statement that the issue of West Pakistan Refugees was humanitarian. 'Baig has now said that pro-resistance camp has vested interest and that is why they are issuing statements against him. I want to remind him that most of the time pro-freedom leaders are either behind the bars or being ruthlessly beaten on roads by the Indian forces for raising voice of the people. It is actually people like Baig who, for their petty gains and vested interest, always harm the sacred cause of people and after becoming ministers and MPs make sellout of the interests of Kashmiris,' he said. Malik termed PDP chief spokesman Naeem Akhtar's statement that Baig's assertions were his personal opinion as 'utter hypocrisy'. 'On one side Akhtar says it is Baig's personal view, but on the other he didn't clarify what his party's stand on the issue is. Akhtar's statement that any decision on the issue (WPRs) can be taken by the state Assembly is tantamount to rubbing salt on the wounds of Kashmiris. It is the same Assembly where resolution for Afzal Guru was tabled and PDP and other parties remained mum. This assembly is the biggest hurdle in the way of freedom of Kashmir because right from 1947 it has been used against the interests of Kashmiris by India,' he said.
