Srinagar: Scores of Kashmir University students on Saturday held strong demonstrations against the Bangladesh government to protest the execution of Jamaat-e-Islami leader, Abdul Qadir Mullah Execution for alleged war crimes. Reports reaching Global News Service said that scores of students of various departments this afternoon assembled outside the Allama Iqbal Library in the campus and staged demonstrations against the Bangdesh government over the hanging of the Jamaat leader on charges of “genocide during 1971 war”. Chanting slogans against the Bangladesh establishment, the protesting students alleged that the Islamic cleric was murdered by the government on false and concocted charges. Later, the protesting students offered funeral prayer in absentia for Mullah. “Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is a murderer. She has martyred the Islamic cleric to appease India. We condemn this brutal act,” the protesting students said. Pertinently, Mullah was hanged on Thursday night for alleged war crimes during the 1971 war. Meanwhile, terming the hanging of Jamaat-e-Islami leader, Shaheed Abdul Quadir Molla in Bangladesh as the “worst example of political vengeance”, senior resistance leader and chairman, Democratic Freedom Party, Shabir Ahmad Shah said the sentencing of the Islamic leader has put the whole Muslim world in great distress.
