J&K Home Minister Slaps Senior Officer

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir’s minister of state for home Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo allegedly slapped a state government senior officer in Kishtwar district of Jammu on Thursday. Sources told Deccan Herald that Kichloo slapped chief executive officer (CEO) of Kishtwar development authority (KDA), Riaz Ahmad Choudhary hours before chief minister Omar Abdullah’s visit to the area. Omar was scheduled inaugurate Kishtwar campus of Jammu University. Choudhary alleged he was slapped thrice by the minister. “When he slapped me for the third time, I asked him what he was doing. Then his people, security people all started hitting me,” he said. “They would’ve killed me. I’m going to lodge an FIR,” he added. Choudhary was also reportedly roughed up by the ruling National Conference worker present at the function. It could not be known what provoked the minister to assault the officer Kichloo, son of former minister from the Kishtwar, was inducted as MoS home by Omar in the January 2013 reshuffle in the cabinet. He replaced Omar’s trusted lieutenant Nasir Sogami who remained MoS Home for more than three years.
