Srinagar: The school teacher, who was attacked with acid by two youths in Srinagar, will be flown to the national capital for plastic surgery. The incident took place on Wednesday when the accused accosted the girl and threw acid on her, blinding her partially. 'We want strict punishment to be given to the culprit. Like in Delhi, we too demand death sentence,' victim's brother said. Police have arrested two men in connection with the incident. One of them is said to have been stalking the girl for several days. A case of attempted murder has been registered against him. The attack has outraged Srinagar residents, who vented their rage on social networking sites. 'There should be tough laws. We demand chemical castration and death penalty against people involved in crime against women,' deputy chairperson J&K women's commission Shamima Firdous said. Even as there is a deep sense of outrage among the public against the main offender, the government response barring the visit of women commission, has been very feeble. Neither Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah nor any of his senior ministers have yet visited the victim.
