New Delhi: United Jehad Council, an amalgam of militant outfits, and Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) have supported the shutdown call for Monday given by Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani against court dismissing the appeal against life imprisonment of Muslim League chief Dr Qasim Faktoo. Addressing UJC members here on Sunday the chairman of the amalgam Syed Salahuddin hailed the sacrifice of Dr Faktoo, Masrat Aalam and other detainees and hoped that the sacrifices rendered by Kashmiri people won’t go in vain. He expressed solidarity with Dukhtaran-e-Milat Chief Asiya Andrabi and praised her for her patience and perseverance. He supported the strike call given by the Hurriyat (G) Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani. Salahuddin, who is also the supreme commander of militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen, urged the world human rights organizations to take cognizance of human rights violations taking place in Kashmir. Meanwhile, militant outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) has supported the shutdown call for Monday. In a tele statement the LeT spokesman Dr Abdullah Gaznavi said: “We support the strike call given by Hurriyat (G) and urge people to make it a success to express solidarity with Dr Faktoo and other political prisoners.”
