Jammu: One person was killed and five others injured when unknown persons lobbed a grenade towards a wine shop at Narwal, here on Saturday evening.Police sources said some unidentified persons lobbed a hand grenade towards the Munish Wine Shop near Narwal police post at around 7.15 pm. .“The explosive device exploded with a big bang, causing injuries to six persons. The injured were shifted to GMC hospital, where one of the critically injured succumbed to injuries,” they said. They identified the deceased as Kuldeep son of Raki Ram of Akhnoor. “The condition of other injured is out of danger”. The other injured have been identified as Amarnath, Rajinder Singh, Rakesh Singh, Ramu and Pradeep Kumar. Immediately after the explosion, police men reached the spot and sealed the area. When contacted, DIG Jammu-Kathua range J P Singh told Rising Kashmir that it was probably a grenade explosion. “The investigations have been launched to ascertain the nature of the explosion,” he said. He said a red alert has been sounded in Jammu and police and security men have been asked to maintain extra vigil. This is the second attack on a liquor shop in the State. Earlier, on Thursday, militants had carried attacks on three liquor shops in Heewan Hotel in Boulevard area of Srinagar. One person was killed and four others injured in the attack.
