Kulgam: After creating controversy by stating that United Nations resolutions on Kashmir were inapplicable now, former Hurriyat (M) chairman Prof Abdul Gani Bhat Thursday said the leadership should not wait for implementation of UN resolutions and enter into talks. ďPeople of Kashmir have been waiting for 63 years to get UN resolutions on Kashmir implemented. If these (UN resolutions) are not being implemented by anybody, the logic is not to wait for them and enter into talks instead,Ē Bhat said while speaking at a public contact meet here. He, however, did not specify with whom the talks should be held. It is pertinent to mention here that few days back, Bhat had created a major controversy by stating that UN resolutions on Kashmir were no longer applicable in the present situation. He had also talked about the possibility of striking a common minimum agenda with National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party. His statement evoked strong resentment from Shabir Shah, Nayeem Khan, Azam Inqilabi and some constituents of Hurriyat (M), who demanded that Mirwaiz should take action against him. They also demanded restructuring of Hurriyat (M).
