Islamabad: Parliamentary Kashmir Committee has endorsed the decision of the government to give Most-Favoured Nation status to India and asked the ministries of foreign affairs and commerce to keep the Kashmir issue on priority during negotiations with India on trade and confidence-building measures. Meeting of the Kashmir Committee was held at the Parliament House here on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Maulana Fazlur Rehman which was attended by Commerce Minister Makhdoom Amin Faheem, Secretary Commerce Zafar Mahmood and officials of the foreign ministry. They briefed the meeting about awarding MFN status to India. Maulana Fazlur Rehman told the minister and the officials that during talks with India there should be no compromise on Pakistanís principled stand on Kashmir issue. He said the Kashmir Committee was concerned that Kashmir cause would be affected by giving MFN status to India. Fazl said that it is their duty to keep in mind the thousands of sacrifices rendered by the people of Kashmir while entering into talks with India. He said Kashmir is our jugular vein and everyone should remember that all the time. Amin Fahim said that MFN decision would not affect Pakistanís stand on Kashmir.
