2 Jaish Militants Killed In South Kashmir

Srinagar: Two militants of Jash-e-Mohammad outfit were killed in a gun-battle with joint team of army and police in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, about 80 kilometers from here, sources said. They said following specific information, police and troops of 53 and 55 RR launched a joint operation at Mitergam Pulwama this afternoon. As the joint team zeroed in on a particular house, militants hiding inside opened indiscriminate fire which was retaliated. In the ensuing gun-battle, they said, two militants of Jash-e-Mohammad were killed. The slain militants have been identified as Iqram Bhai of Pakistan and Farooq Ahmad Lone alias Tahir son of Ghulam Hassan of Khandi Pakherpora Aglar Pulwama. Superintendent of Police, Pulwama Amit Kumar confirmed the killing of two militants. “Gun-battle is over, two militants were killed,” he said.
