Srinagar: The Kashmir Committee led by Ram Jethmalani too intends to bring out a blue print for resolving the Kashmir issue, having, reportedly, been assured of ‘serious consideration’ by Pakistan if its document conforms to the ‘aspirations of the Kashmiri people.’ The Committee is in Kashmir after reviving itself with a visit to Pakistan for talks with its leadership and policy-makers, and is likely to undertake a similar exercise back home for a ‘comprehensive document’ outlining a solution acceptable to New Delhi, Islamabad and the people of Kashmir. In Srinagar, Jethmalani had recently hinted at the possibility of creating an amalgam of General Musharraf’s four-point formula, the PDP’s self-rule concept and the NC’s autonomy proposal for such a document in what the noted jurist is reported to have made the ‘most important mission of his life.’ Over the past four days, the Kashmir Committee has sounded out key political players here on both sides of the ideological divide, including separatists Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, Maulana Abbas Ansari, and Sajjad Ghani Lone, PDP president Mahbooba Mufti and Congress leader Saifuddin Soz, besides the former vice chancellor of the Islamic University, Prof Siddique Wahid.
