Jammu: Maintaining they “do not have any readymade solution or magic wand”, the Centre’s interlocutors on Kashmir have advocated empowering people of the state to address most of their grievances. “Wherever we have visited in the state, people complain about lack of civic amenities, roads, education infrastructure and health facilities. The best way to address all these grievances is to empower them,” Dileep Padgaonkar, heading the three-member team of the Centre’s interlocutors on Kashmir, told mediapersons here on Tuesday. Padgaonkar, who was flanked by academician Radha Kumar and former chief information commissioner M M Ansari, said the people wanted that the political, economic and administrative powers vested in the state must be equitably shared by all the three regions, and there should be an effective devolution of such powers to the district, block and panchayat level.
