800 Kashmiris In PaK Camp: Arrested Militant

Srinagar: A militant, who along with his wife was arrested in Poonch while trying to sneak into this side from other side of Kashmir recently, has told his interrogators that 800 Kashmiris are undergoing arms training in a militant camp at Garhi Habibullah in Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK). SSP Poonch Manmohan Singh told Rising Kashmir that the militant Mohammad Ashraf who was arrested with his wife Asma has disclosed during questioning that at least 800 Kashmiri youth are receiving arms training at a militant camp at Garhi Habibullah in PaK. Sources said Ashraf has given names of the some Kashmiris, who had crossed over to PaK for receiving arms training. “He has given names of some youth hailing from Ganderbal and Budgam area, who he said are receiving arms training in the militant camp,” they said. They further said that it appears that the arrested militant was very close to Nadeem Hussain of Thathri, Doda. “After crossing LoC at the age of 14, Ashraf according to his statement given to police received two years religious education. Afterwards he was shifted to Garhi Habibullah Camp where he received arms training. Then he was assigned the job to guard Khacharban Launching Pad”, an investigating officer told Rising Kashmir. SSP said investigations are going on. “Ashraf and his wife have been shifted to JIC Jammu for further investigations,” he said.
