Hunza: The increasing water level in a lake formed after a landslide in Hunza is posing a serious threat to a third village, Geo News reported on Sunday. The lake on January 4 had not only destroyed Ata Abad village but also completely inundated two Gojal villages, Aieenabad and Shashkat. The increasing water level may inundate Gojal, tehsil headquarter of Gulmit, as the lowlying areas are already under water. Residents of the Atta Abad area were given a deadline of May 15 to vacate the area. According to experts, the water level in the lake has risen, which may lead to a breach in the dam. Local administration issued an advertisement, ordering residents to move to safer areas.
