Srinagar: Two children were killed and five others injured when an unexploded shell they were fiddling with exploded at village Jabdi, Karnah in North Kashmir. A police officer said on Monday evening some children were fiddling with an unexploded shell, which their elders had found in the forest area. 'During this process, the shell exploded with a big bang, causing on the spot death of a boy Adil Hussain, 12, and injuries to five others,' he said. He said the injured persons, who included four children, were taken to the hospital. 'One of the critically injured boys was identified as Faisal who succumbed to his injuries while being taken to the hospital. The doctors have termed the condition of another injured as critical,' he said. The incident site is barely one kilometre from the Line of Control (LoC), a defacto border between India and Pakistan in Kashmir.
