This Is A Pak Conspiracy: J&K DGP7 January 2010
Srinagar: The attack in Srinagar was a conspiracy hatched in Pakistan, Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Kuldeep Khoda said on Thursday. 'This is part of Pakistan's conspiracy to destabilize Jammu and Kashmir,' Khoda said after security forces killed the two terrorists holed up in a hotel at Srinagar's Lal Chowk ending a 22 hour encounter, Times Now reported. The DGP told reporters that they had prior information about a Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) attack. 'Unfortunately, terrorists have the eliment of surprise on their side,' he said. Of the two killed militants, one is a Pakistani and the other, a local. Speaking on the operation a Jammu and Kashmir police top official said the operation was a success, especially because there was no collateral damage. Among the victims are two security personnel. A civilian also succumbed to his injuries at a hospital. A cameraperson of a TV news channel was also among those injured in the crossfire. The encounter began on Wednesday afternoon when the terrorists began hurling grenades and firing at policemen.
