Srinagar: Asking PDP and NC to join Hurriyat if they want to resolve Kashmir according to UN resolutions or tripartite talks, Democratic Freedom Party chairman and senior Hurriyat (M) leader Shabir Shah Tuesday said they are ready for talks if India paves way for it. Shah was addressing public rallies at Pulwama, Islamabad, Kulgam, Shopian during his four day visit to South Kashmir. “If India starts demilitarization, stops human rights violations, accepts to start negotiations with separatist leadership and Pakistan, we won’t shy away from the dialogue process,” said Shah, who was recently released. About the pro-India parties, Hurriyat (M) leader said, “Those, who consider Jammu and Kashmir as integral part of India can only scuttle the dialogue process. We want the resolution of issue not the extension of military oppression here. If NC and PDP want to resolve Kashmir issue according to UN resolutions or tripartite talks, they should join the Hurriyat conference”. Claiming that India was never sincere about resolution of Kashmir, Shah said, “India wants to cover the military oppression with democratic colour. India is just politicking on the issue.” He said the resolution of Kashmir issue acceptable to every opinion of the separatist camp would be long lasting. The DFP chairman said his efforts to bridge gap between the two Hurriyat factions was the reason for his continued detention. “June 19, 2008 agreement with Syed Ali Geelani stands and I will strive to uphold the agreement. I will continue my efforts for unity in the separatist camp,” he said. Stating that international pressure is increasing on India, the senior separatist leader said, “We will never accept the oppression of India and continue our peaceful struggle against the military oppression like we did in 2008.”
