Make Separatist Leaders Partners In Dialogue Process: Farooq

Srinagar: The National Conference supremo Farooq Abdullah today said his mission was to make leaders of the separatist Hurriyat Conference partners in the dialogue process aimed at resolving the lingering Kashmir problem. ' Friendship between India and Pakistan and making leaders of the Hurriyat partners in the dialogue process for resolving the Kashmir issue is my mission,'he told an election rally here. The NC veteran, who is contesting election from Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency, said political parties, sympathetic to Kashmiris, needed to work unitedly to solve the problem. Abdullah, however, lashed out at Opposition PDP accusing it of harming the interest of Kashmiris. 'The party is always in the forefront of dividing people on urban and rural basis,'the NC president told the rally at Khanyar in old city, said to be the stronghold of separatists. He said people had suffered a lot as the Kashmir issue was hanging fire for a long period. Abdullah said his party would strive hard to ensure development of all regions in Jammu and Kashmir. He said all promises made by the Omar Abdullah government, including solving of the unemployment problem, would be fulfilled.
