New Delhi: It's now virtually certain that Omar Abdullah of the National Conference will be the new chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir. Sources have told NDTV that the Congress has decided to go with the National Conference and Omar Abdullah. A formal announcement is expected on Tuesday after senior Congress leaders meet the Prime Minister. They will brief him about the party's decision to go with the National Conference after which Omar will seal the deal with Sonia Gandhi. But sources say the decision to go with the National Conference was taken at a meeting, which Congress President Sonia Gandhi had on Monday night with senior party leaders.
