Srinagar : Dr. Farooq Abdullah, former Chief Minister and patron National Conference said that Mufti Mohammad Sayeed is responsible for diluting Article 370, internal-autonomy of the state and abetted the murder of democracy in the State in 1984. Dr. Abdullah said the dubious role played by Mufti since 1953 is not a secret and the people of the State have recognized his nefarious designs which brought destruction and bloodshed to this peaceful State and shall never forgive him for his acts of omission. Addressing a series of meetings and road shows at Mulphak, Danihama, Batpora Khawaja Bagh, Telbal in Hazratbal Assembly constituency here today, Dr. Abdullah said Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, was behind all the wrong and anti-people decisions taken by New Delhi with regard to Jammu and Kashmir. He said the role of the PDP patron first as PCC president and then as the Home Minister of the India is well known to the people of the State. Dr. Abdullah said after the names of the PDP-Congress coalition Ministers surfaced in the infamous sex scandal, the cases were hushed up without going into proper investigation, adding that while the investigation was stalled by the then coalition regime, the victims were left at the mercy of God. The State Accountability Commission, he said, which was setup by the PDP led coalition government with much hype was also forced to close after twenty-two ministers of Coalition Government were charged with demanding and accepting illegal gratification. He said, if voted to power, his party will provide more teeth to the State Accountability Commission to investigate the cases of corruption and whosoever found involved right from a mere peon to the Chief Minister, would be booked and punished, he said. Dr Abdullah said PDP Government indulged in divisive politics and tried to divide the people of the State on regional, religious, caste and ethnic basis for vote bank politics thereby destroying the traditional secular fabric of the State. He assured that his party will work to restore the bonds of communal harmony and brotherhood among the people of the State. Dr. Abdullah said fortunately now the people of Jammu and Kashmir have seen through their (PDP's) manipulative, self-centered politics and so shall defeat the PDP and remove it from the political horizon of the State by giving an absolute majority to the National Conference. Dr. Abdullah said the National Conference Government will provide a stable Government which will be committed for the welfare of the people of the State and shall work for their welfare and wellbeing. Dr Abdullah said that his party has conceived an agenda for governance and after coming to power will channelise things in right perspective.
