Zardari discusses Daawa, AJK situation with ministers

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has held an important meeting with the top cabinet ministers in the wake of the Security Council committees decision on Jamaatud Daawa. Zardari held meeting with Information Minister Sherry Rehman, Minister for Inter-provincial Coordination Raza Rabbani, Minister for Labour, Manpower and Overseas Pakistanis Khursheed Shah and Minister for Investment Waqar Ahmed Khan here Thursday evening at the Aiwan-e-Sadr. The president also discussed with them the political situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and decided to remain neutral in the affairs of AJK government. Sources said AJK Prime Minister Sardar Attiq wanted to meet President Zardari but he did not meet him.The ongoing confrontation between the PPP and PML-N in Punjab over the appointment of provincial ombudsman also came up for discussion and Zardari directed the top party leadership in Punjab to refrain from giving statement in this regard as the issue would now be settled at the highest level.
