Islamabad: An Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) trade delegation on Saturday met Kashmiri leaders Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Syed Ali Geelani and expressed its desire to make trade across the Line of Control (LoC) a success. Farooq congratulated AJK Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Zulfiqar Abbasi for announcing the formation of a joint business chamber, the Kashmir Media Service news agency reported. The Kashmiri leader said he hoped India and Pakistan would help grow trade across the LoC. “We expect them [Indian and Pakistan] to provide every logistic support to this economic activity,” Farooq said. Briefing reporters about the delegation meeting with Geelani, Abbasi said he had told the Hurriyat leader that trading bodies across the border were serious about starting trade. However, Geelani told the visitors that mere trade could not help resolve the Kashmir dispute. “The government of India had hyped the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad bus service as it would solve the Kashmir issue, but results are evident,” he said. app
