Maulana Fazl Elected Chairman NA Special Committee For Kashmir Affairs

Islamabad: Head of JUI-F Maulana Fazl ur Rehman on Tuesday was elected unopposed as Chairman of National Assembly Special Committee for Kashmir Affairs. Reliable Sources informed Online that a meeting regarding election of Chairman of Standing Committees of first phase was held under Secretary NA Karamat Niazi in Parliament House on Tuesday. During the meeting, Pir Aftab Shah Jilani formally recommended the name of Head of JUI-F Maulana Fazl ur Rehman as Chairman of National Assembly Special Committee for Kashmir Affairs. Sheikh Aftab Ahmed supported the decision of nominating JUI-F Maulana Fazl ur Rehman as Chairman of National Assembly Special Committee for Kashmir Affairs. Hence, JUI-F Maulana Fazl ur Rehman was elected as Chairman of National Assembly Special Committee for Kashmir Affairs unopposed as there was no other candidate. Sources further say that the Kashmir Committee will comprise of 31 Members that will include more than 10 Senators. Chairman Senate Muhammadmian Soomro will suggest the names of the said Senators. It must be mentioned here that JUI-F Head didn’t attend the meeting as he is performing Umra ion the holy City. On the other hand, Rana Muhammad Ishaq strongly protested over the decision regarding Head of JUI-F Maulana Fazl ur Rehman electing unopposed as Chairman of National Assembly Special Committee for Kashmir Affairs. He had certain reservations against him urging that he is barred to visit UK stressing he had been made Chairman before however he failed to produce fruitful results in this regard. Sources reveal that it was told in the meeting that all the issues relating to Kashmir issue must be tabled in the Parliament especially those policies during the tenure of former President Pervez Musharraf. Meanwhile PPP’s Central Leader Khursheed Shah assured the Committee that Government will present all the policies regarding Kashmir to the Kashmir Committee stressing will be unveiled in front of every one. On the other hand, Officials of Foreign Office will also formally brief the Kashmir Committee on Kashmir Affairs methodically.
