Valley Outraged At Batmaloo Blast

Srinagar: The grenade blast at Batamaloo bus stand here on Thursday, killing five innocent civilians and injuring several others, has sparked public outrage and indignation across the Valley with several political, social and religious organizations condemning it strongly and demanding an impartial probe to expose the perpetrators of such heinous acts. Expressing strong outrage over the blast, the Hurriyat Conference (G) termed it “a highly condemnable terrorist act aimed at stoking communal unrest and damaging the state economy.” Demanding an impartial probe into the blast, the Hurriyat spokesman Ayaz Akbar said, “The perpetrators of this heinous crime should be publicly hanged to death.” He expressed sympathies with the bereaved families and the injured. Amir Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir Sheikh Muhammad Hassan, while expressed pro-found grief over the loss of precious human lives in the blast, termed it highly reprehensible act. He demanded a judicial probe into the incident and condign punishment to guilty. Talking to Greater Kashmir, Amir-i-Jama’at said, “Killing of an innocent of person is one of the biggest sins in Islam and an unpardonable crime. Islam in no way allows a man to commit such a heinous act. The perpetrators of such acts should be brought to justice at any cost.” Hurriyat Conference (M), while condemning the blast, expressed deep sorrow over loss of innocent lives. Terming the blast as a horrible act of terrorism, the Hurriyat spokesman demanded impartial probe into blast and exemplary punishment to the perpetrators of the crime. He said such heinous acts of crime were being committed under a deep rooted conspiracy to malign the ongoing freedom movement in Jammu Kashmir and give it a communal tinge. Hurriyat expressed sympathies with the families of deceased and prayed for speedy recovery of injured persons. Condemning the blast, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) expressed sympathies with the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of injured people. In a statement, a spokesman of JKLF from Maqbool Manzil expressed deep sorrow over loss of human life in such gory incidents. Expressing serious concern over the loss of human life in the grenade blast, the Jammu Kashmir Muslim League termed it highly condemnable. In a statement today, a spokesman of the ML said a similar blast had occurred at Gulmarg last week, killing two civilians and injuring seven others. He demanded probe into such incidents at international level. Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has strongly condemns the inhumane act. A spokesman of the party has said that such incidents only add up to the miseries of the common people. He added that violence cannot lead to any solution and the gruesome act which consumed the five precious lives today is highly condemnable. The Democratic Liberation Party (DLP) chairman Hashim Qureshi , while expressing profound grief and sorrow over the loss of life in the grenade blast, terming it a handiwork of security agencies. Hashim, according to DLP statement, said lobbing grenades at public places and busy markets to target the innocent civilians was an inhuman and cowardly act allegedly perpetrated by the paid agents of security agencies. “The perpetrators of such dastardly acts can never be people friendly and pro-movement. They are anti-people and anti-movement elements and are doing such heinous acts to malign the image of Kashmiris. They are on pay rolls of security agencies and perpetrate such cowardly acts at their behest only,” he said. Hashim prayed for the peace to departed souls and expressed solidarity with the bereaved families. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of injured persons. He appealed to the pro-movement people to expose these killers. Expressing deep shock and outrage over the loss of innocent life in the grenade attack, the Srinagar City Senior Citizens’ Forum (SCSCF) termed it highly condemnable and demanded a judicial probe into such gory incidents to expose the killers. National Conference president Omar Abdullah, while expressing deep sorrow over the loss of innocent human life in the blast, said, “Our hearts bleed at such gory incidents.” Omar expressed sympathies with the bereaved families and prayed for speedy recovery of injured. Expressing grief and sorrow over the killing of innocent persons in the blast, the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) condemned it as inhuman act. In a statement today, a spokesman of PDP expressed solidarity with the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of injured. The state secretary of the CPI-M, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami has also condemned the Batmaloo blast and termed it cowardly act. The All Party Migrant Coordination Committee (APMCC) chairman Vinod Pandit has expressed profound grief and shock over the killing of civilians in in a grenade attack in Kashmir. In a statement, Vinod Pandit castigated Hilal War for threatening non-Kashmiris for the past few days which was followed by a grenade attack killing five innocent civilians. He said, “he (Hilal War) is bent upon damaging the reputation of Kashmiris the world over.” Vinod said no Kashmiri can approve of such killings merely because they don’t belong to this state adding this can result in severe backlash outside Kashmir putting lakhs of Kashmiris in danger. Vinod called upon the separatist leaders and other personalities to condemn the act in severe terms and asked the authorities to bring the culprits to book. Vinod said that act was the handiwork of the organization that was not a well-wisher of Kashmiris and asked people to identify such elements who bring disrepute to Kashmiriyat around the world.
