Better Indo-Pak relations imperative for peace, development: Soz

Srinagar: Union Minister for Water Resources and President JKPCC Prof. Saif-ud-Din Soz has said that the Central Government was contemplating to maintain cordial and friendly relations with all countries including Pakistan, Iran, China and Afghanistan. He said by restoring friendly relation trade activities would flourish and give boost to economy, adding that all issues could be resolved through dialogue process and interaction. He was addressing a public meeting at Kalantra Kreeri in Baramulla district today. Responding to people’s demands, Mr. Soz announced Rs.5 lakh for construction of a public park at Kalantra and construction of a lane. He said measures would be taken to include Kontra, Kontrabala, Kachuumuqam in backward category areas. He further said that regional water supply Kreeri would be extended up to Kanlantra to redress people’s grievances for potable water. 'Renovation of Martand Kul, Babul Kul and Shah Kul would also be taken up at a cost of Rs.3.50 crore', he added. Minister for Rural Development Mula Ram, Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Taj-Mohi-ud-Din, Chairman Handicrafts Development Corporation Haji Abdul Rashid Dar Surinder Singh Channi and Advocate Muzaffar Hussain Parray also spoke on the occasion.
