Stage Set For Massive Infrastructural Development In Rural J&K: Mula

Jammu: Minister for Rural Development Mr. Mula Ram today said that with flagship NREGA programme being extended to entire state by next April the infrastructure landscape in rural Jammu and Kashmir was bound to witness a massive development in next four years. The Minister was briefing the implementation of the programme to a crowded press conference here on Saturday. Secretary Rural Development Mr. M S Khan also accompanied the minister at the conference. He said presently the scheme was being implemented in nine districts which include five new districts carved out from the districts covered in the first and second phase. He said while in the first phase programme was implemented in Doda, Poonch and Kupwara dsitricts in 2005, the launching year of the scheme, it was extended to two more districts of Jammu and Anantnag in the year 2006.
