Srinagar: A top militant of the Harkat ul Jehad Islami or HUJI, believed to be the mastermind of the UP serial blasts has been killed in Jammu and Kashmir. The police claim it's a major breakthrough. Bashir Ahmed alis Saba, the HUJI commander in Kashmir, was killed in an encounter with the state police at Kishtwar in the Doda district a little after Thursday midnight. Saba was wanted by the police in various states. He had been active in Kashmir since 1992 and allegedly trained militants in Pakistan for several years. Police said that they received information about Saba's involvement in the Uttar Pradesh serial blasts in November from an arrested militant. Saba is also believed to have been involved in the Hyderabad blasts in August.
