MUZAFFARABAD: Strict and foolproof security arrangements have been made in Azad Jammu and Kashmir for the security of Ashura processions, AJK police sources told reporters on Saturday. They said security had been beefed up at the district level in order to avert any untoward incident. AJK police have been put on high alert and extra force has been deputed in sensitive areas. A few new check posts have also been set up in Muzaffarabad, Bagh and in Mirpur districts. Special devices have been installed at link roads leading to Pakistan for keeping an eye on the movement of suspicious persons. Sources said security personnel, both in uniform and plain clothes, had been deputed at all imambargahas and traditional routes of mourners’ processions in the district. The night patrolling of police has been increased, they added. Digital devices have been installed at the main gates of imambargahs and religious scholars are also cooperating with the administration, sources said. app
