Plan for road communication launched in AJK

MIRPUR: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government has kicked off a comprehensive plan to provide latest all-season road communication facilities, harmonious to the need of the modern era, official sources said. The sources said the plan envisages the construction of various new major and link roads in addition to the expansion and pavement of the existing network of highways and link roads in all eight districts of AJK to make them fit for all seasons. “With the construction of these roads communication gap between the rural and urban areas would be reduced,” sources added. Sources further said that the construction work on about 2,000 kilometre long roads including 600 km long Kashmir Highway and important bridges over seasonal nullahs, was in progress at present and will be completed within the stipulated period. app
