Special Prayers In Kashmir For Rains

Srinagar: Special prayers were offered in mosques across Kashmir on Friday to seek rains and snow from the Almighty. Kashmir is presently in a dry spell, due to which people are confronting ailments and hardships. Thousands of men and women offered special prayers in mosques and shrines in Kashmir and prayed for rains and snow. 'We should get rid of the dry spell', they prayed. Meanwhile, people in Kashmir had some respite from the intense cold wave in view of cloudy conditions which raised the night temperature by three degrees. The minimum temperature of the night, according to weather men, was recorded at minus four degrees Celsius. Fayaz Wani reports on life in Srinagar, Kashmir.
