Lahore: SYED Faisal Nazki, president of the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Pakistan chapter, has condemned the assassination of PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto while stating that the loss was irreparable for both the peoples of Pakistan and Kashmir. Addressing a press conference at the partyŪs head office on Sunday, he said it was tragic that Bhutto family mysteriously remained the target of assassinations for their services to the people while no other political leaders were targeted like them in the history of the country. žThe people would remain in a state of great anger and pain unless the culprits of the Liaquat Bagh tragedy are punished while it is equally important for the integrity of the federation to bring the culprits to justice,Ó he added. JKLF General Secretary Sardar Anwar Khan, Voice of Kashmir Chairman Khawaja Nabi Lone, Jammu Kashmir Society for Human Rights President Ashfaq Kiani, PML-N leader Dr Muhammad Iqbal and others also spoke on the occasion. They said the Kashmir issue was in a state of deadlock due to the lack of interest by the present government, adding that the issue could only be resolved under a political leadership while Benazir could have been the best option for the job. žThe killing of Benazir is the death of democracy and a shock for over 160 million Pakistanis,Ó they added. The speakers maintained Benazir was a ray of hope for the working class in Pakistan as she was challenging the establishment and its supporters, which might have been the reason behind her killing. They also demanded an international investigation commission to probe into the Rawalpindi carnage.
