Rival 'Awami' Kashmir Conference In London

London: All Parties Kashmir Coordination Committee opposed to 'Kashmir Conference' sponsored by London based Kashmir Centre has staged a demonstration outside the British Parliament to protest the participation of National Conference leader Ummar Abdullah in the 'peace moot'. They also and held a separate conference in the premises of British Parliament which was addressed by UK based Kashmiri leaders and diaspora. Addressing the conference Jammat Islami Azad Kashmir Secretary General Raja Jahngeer Khan said Kashmir freedom was passing critical juncture of its history and the forces that had been never part of the movement have accelerated their efforts to sabotage it and deprive the people of Kashmir from the fruits of their struggle. He said people of Kashmir are real master of their fate and only they have right to decide their future. India and Pakistan have no right to impose a solution of Kashmir issue or fictitious leadership upon them. Referring to the 'Kashmir Peace Conference' being organizing by Kashmir Centre London, JI leader said no important Kashmiri leader was invited in the conference except Ummar Abdullah from Occupied Kashmir and Prime Minister Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan from Azad Kashmir. He said genuine Kashmiri leadership from both sides of LoC has been ignored and added those invited in the conference had nothing to do with Kashmiri peoples' struggle for their right of self determination. He said Kashmiri community in UK was also not taken into confidence before holding of this conference. He said extending invitation to National Conference leader Ummar Abdullah is part of the plan to impose him on people of Kashmir through forthcoming shame elections. He said Kashmiri people have rejected Sheikh Abdullah family and they can not be accepted to represent Kashmiri people. Addressing on the occasion Chief Patron of Tehreek-e- Kashmir Syed Munwar Mashadi said Kashmiri community in UK can not welcome those who had killed Kashmiris and dishonoured their sisters and daughters to remain in power. 'We simply can not shake hand with those whose hands are stained with the blood of innocent people', he added. The Acting President AJK PPP UK, Chaudhry Manzoor said so called pro-Pakistan Sardar Attique and pro- India Ummar Abdullah were allowed to sit together with aim to maintain status quo and to place the Kashmir issue on the back burner. President Tehreek- e- Kashmir Mohammed Ghalib said late Sheikh Abdullah always deceived Kashmiri people by saying that he is real freedom fighter and will take them to their destination and now Ummar Abdullah was shedding crocodile tears to gain power following the foot steps of his grand father. The Kashmiri people are fully aware of such deception and conspiracies and they will never trust over such elements again, he added. Meeting chaired by APKCC Maulana Bostan Qadri. Mohammad Shahin Akhtar of Pakistan coordination committee also spoke at conference. Earlier a large number of people gathered in front of British Parliament to stage a demonstration. Holding placards and banners inscribed with different slogans they chanted vociferous slogans against India, in favour of Kashmir freedom movement and against the participants of the 'Peace Conference'.
