Srinagar: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday welcomed the withdrawal of Army troops from school and hospital buildings in the Kashmir valley. 'This would help in improving the health and education sector which were lacking the requisite infrastructure', PDP MLC and General Secretary Basharat Bukahir said after a meeting at Baramulla. He, however, stressed on Army top brass to shift from all the school and hospital buildings within the stipulated time, set by Defence Minister A K Antony. Antony during his visit to the valley last month had said the troops will vacate all school and hospital buildings by November 30. Besides troop reduction, Bukhari said repeal of 'draconian' laws especially AFSPA was a must in order to empower civil institutions in the state.
