CIDA to construct 42 institutes in AJK

Islamabad: The Canadian Agency for International Development (CIDA) will construct 42 educational institutions including a 1st degree college in the quake-affected areas of AJK. According to a statement issued here on Wednesday by the State Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Agency (SERRA), Canadian High Commission First Secretary Barbara Humick announced this during a meeting with SERRA Head Dr Syed Asif Hussain in Muzaffarabad. During the meeting, both sides discussed projects regarding the rehabilitation and reconstruction process in the areas. Sources said the Canadian Development Agency would construct a 1st degree college for girls, five higher secondary and 36 primary schools in Union Council Hatian Dupata, adding that work on the projects would begin in April next year. Asif Hussain assured the Canadian diplomat that the AJK government would continue collaboration with international development agencies and provide all possible assistance to them.
