Mirpur: Friends of Mirpur, an NGO comprising local and Azad Kashmir-origin British nationals, has vowed to raise the image of Pakistan in Britain and other European countries. For the purpose, the NGO will work in collaboration with the Britain-based Pakistani and Kashmiri community and Pakistans diplomatic missions in Britain. This was stated by FOM President Chaudhry Muhammad Siddique, Advocate. He was speaking at a dinner hosted by him the other day in honour of eminent overseas Kashmiri personalities. Speaking on the occasion, chief guest Khurshid Ahmed, President British Muslim Forum and the author of already-reached friendship treaties between Mirpur and British cities of Birmingham, Bradford and Oldham, said that the exchange of bilateral cooperation in civic, health, education and other related sectors between Mirpur and the said British cities could be promoted in letter and spirit by the organisations like FOM with the coordination of local civic institutions of this district. He said that Pakistani diplomatic missions in various parts of Britain including the High Commission in London as well as the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation should act upon the open-door policy to listen every complainant from amongst our community to resolve their problems, if any, in minimum possible time.
