Jawan Injured In Baramulla Firing

Srinagar: An army jawan was injured when militants opened fire on a security search party in the Pattan area of Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. The militants opened fire on the joint search party of the Rashtriya Rifles and the police at Saidpora village of Pattan, 27 km from here. A jawan sustained injuries, official sources said. The troops fired back and an encounter took place between the two sides, they said adding reinforcements were rushed to the village to flush out the militants. In another incident, militants set off an improvised explosive device on the roadside in Sopore.
