Musharrafs presidency vital for settlement of Kashmir issue

Mirpur: President General Pervez Musharrafs re-election for the next term was imperative for early settlement of the Kashmir issue, eminent legal expert and All Jammu Kashmir Muslim Conference Central Coordination Secretary Muhammad Sideeque advocate said this while talking to reporters here on Thursday. He said the landslide victory of President Musharraf in the presidential election was the urgent need of the hour and the re-electionis in the larger national interests including the early peaceful settlement of the Kashmir conflict. He felicitated President Musharraf for his unwavering success in the election and hoped that his continuation in the office would lead towards early success of Kashmir freedom movement through the resolution of Kashmir issue in line with the aspirations of the basic stakeholder - the Jammu Kashmir people. Sideeque said due to bold and courageous stance of President Musharraf on the Kashmir issue, Kashmir is moving ahead in the right direction. Lashing out at India for continuing the reign of terror and massive human rights abuses in occupied Jammu Kashmir, the senior lawyer said India was continuing the custodial killing of innocent Kashmiris and making them handicapped through use of force. He said the cases of increased Indian brutalities in occupied Kashmir would be taken to the international court of justice. He said any solution of the Kashmir issue, which sans the aspirations of Jammu Kashmir, will not be acceptable to the Kashmiris at any cost. Sideeque said Kashmiris living on either side of the Line of Control and rest of the world would continue to raise their voice in most effective manner both at home and abroad to ensure the settlement of Kashmir dispute in accordance with their aspirations.
