Kashmiri parties call for rights

Lahore: The leaders of the political parties of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) said the right to self-determination was an inalienable right of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. They were speaking at a consultation in Islamabad on Wednesday, which was organised by the United Centre for Peace and Pakistan India Peoples Forum for Peace and Democracy. The reunification of AJK and the Indian held Kashmir and latters independence was the ultimate objective of Kashmiris, they said, adding that Indian and Pakistani governments should give more representation to Kashmiris in dialogue over security issues. The Kashmiri Leaders said the Kashmiris were peaceful people and they wanted friendship with the people of India and Pakistan. They said the right of self-determination also entitles them to sit with the representatives of the governments of Pakistan and India to conclude such arrangements that would address national security concerns of Pakistan and India.
