Jammu: Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), two major outfits operating in the State, have inducted well trained women cadre in their outfits both within J&K and their training camps in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK). The women being trained in PoK were too slated to be pushed into Kashmir and twin border districts of Poonch and Rajouri, official sources said. The information with Intelligence agencies and security forces was based on the questioning of recently arrested militants in the two border districts, which has further been strengthened by the arrests of Zubaida Begum and her daughter Rubina Kousar, residents of Bhati Dhara, Mendhar and involvement of Nahida Kousar, another young girl from Mendhar in the militancy. All three women were part of Jaish network operating in Poonch and Jammu districts. According to vital inputs gathered by security agencies during the questioning of arrested militants including Zaffar Iqbal, a Pakistani, who was captured alive by police during an encounter in Janipura recently when his associate Saifullah Qari was killed, at least a dozen women militants were active in Poonch and Rajouri districts. Some of them had left the job of Special Police Officers (SPOs) to become militants. The SPOs were lured by the militants as they were already trained in handling of arms and ammunition. 'These women militants will not only be used by the two outfits to transport arms and explosives but also to carry out sneak attacks', sources said. 'The problem with women militants is that it would be impossible to immediately identify them. By the time, we will realise that the women are militants, they might have caused some damage', they added. According to inputs, a number of Pakistani women were also being trained in JeM and LeT training camps in PoK. Zaffar Iqbal, who had entered into Indian territory from PoK only a couple of months back, has also confirmed the training of women militants in PoK training camps of the outfit. According to the information revealed by Zaffar Iqbal, the women militants being trained in PoK camps, were to be pushed mainly into the Kashmir valley and border districts of Poonch and Rajouri. These women were being trained in handling of sophisticated weapons and explosive devices. Most of them belonged to poor families and were reported to have agreed to join the militancy on being lured with money by LeT and JeM networks. So far, no Pakistani woman militant had ever been arrested in Jammu region though a number of female cadre of Jaish and LeT networks have been captured in Poonch and Ramban districts recently. In addition to the arrest of Zubaida Begum and Rubina Kousar and a hunt for Nahida Kousar in Mendhar for being part of Jaish network as revealed by Zaffar Iqbal, security agencies had arrested two former SPOs in Poonch few days back for helping militants to infiltrate through LoC and reach their destinations. Prior to that, another woman, Haseena Begum, who was affiliated with LeT outfit and was part of a conspiracy to kill Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad in a rally at Ramban, was arrested along with three other militants of the outfit.
