Jammu: In a pre-dawn operation, Army troops foiled an infiltration bid by armed militants and shot dead two ultras near the Line of Control in Poonch district. Thermal images picked up the movements of the militants from across the border in Kala top (Havai post) in Salotri belt of Poonch district, official sources said. Militants, who had entered deep inside Indian territory, fired on troops guarding LoC, they said, adding that two militants were killed in the gunbattle that followed. The slain militants belonged to Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) outfit, they said. The operation was still on as troops recovered two A-K rifles, some grenades.
