3 Civilians Kidnapped, Released

Jammu: Three civilians were kidnapped and tortured by the militants at village Dalwa under the jurisdiction of Gool police station in Ramban district last night. The hostages were released this morning. Reports said two Hizbul Mujahideen militants-Manzoor Ahmed alias Furqan son of Ghulam Mohd Naik R-o Dalwa and Feroz Din alias Nassarullah Gazi son of Abdullah Malik R-o Sulbala, Gool joined by Furqan's wife Raj Begum kidnapped three civilians from Dalwa last night and took them to a dhok. The kidnapped civilians were identified as Shabir Ahmed son of Abdul Samad Wani R-o Dalwa, Gulzar Ahmed and Mohd Ayub sons of Gul Mohd Shah, both residents of Gagarsulla, Gool. The civilians were tortured by the militants in captivity throughout the last night before being released this morning. The militants escaped from the dhok. A police party visited the spot this morning but there was no trace of the militants. Security forces today destroyed a hide-out of the militants at village Ojhan in Saj area of Thanna Mandi and recovered two Chinese hand grenades, four UBGL grenades, 25 AK rounds, three Pika rounds, two pistol rounds, one kg RDX, one electronic IED, 50 meters IED wire, one pouch, 10 pencil cells, one jean and three Pakistan made calendars. No arrests were made from the hide-out.
