Civilian Killed, AK Snatched

Rajouri: A civilian was gunned down by the militants outside his house at Kha Jamola, near here, last night. He has been identified as Nazar Din, 30, son of Raj Mohd, a resident of Draba, Surankote, who had shifted to Kha Jamola for the last two years. Reports said two militants came to the house of Nazar Din at Kha Jamola at 10.30 pm last night and knocked door of the house. They kidnapped Nazar Din as soon as he came out of the house and locked the door from outside. They pumped four bullets in the abdomen of Nazar Din outside his house and escaped. Nazar was killed on spot. The militants escaped after the killing. A police party from Rajouri police station led by SHO Mirza Zakir Hussain rushed to the spot and sent the body for post- mortem. The area was cordoned off but the militants remained untraced. Sources said Nazar had migrated from Surankote to this town after the killing of his brother Lal Din, who was posted in Territorial Army, in 2005. His two more brothers, Mohd Aslam and Mohd Razzak were posted in Territorial Army and Special Police Officer (SPO) with security forces. In another incident, a suspected militant today snatched one AK-47 rifle, one wireless set and two belt rounds from a police constable Rattan Singh, Incharge Kastigarh post in Doda district. Police parties have rushed to the spot for searches and investigations. Army and police arrested an Over Ground Worker of the militants from village Kaona in Ramsu area of Ramban district and recovered from his possession two Chinese grenades and one I-com radio set. The OGW has been identified as Mohammad, 22, S-o Abdullah R-o Kaona.
