New Delhi: Leaders of All Parties Hurriyat Conference and other Kashmir leaders will attend the 2-day Kashmir Conference in Washington organised by the Kashmir American Council on July 26 and 27. Media reports in Srinagar said those who had confirmed their participation included APHC Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Yasin Malik, Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), and Shabir Shah, President of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party. The Indian daily 'Tribune' quoting Ghulam Nabi Fai, executive director of the Kashmiri American Council, said the aim of the conference was to explore all possible options to settle the issue of Kashmir to the satisfaction of all three parties- India, Pakistan and, in particular, the people of all regions of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. He said it was a matter of satisfaction that the leadership in India and Pakistan had realised that status-quo in Kashmir was not an option. He said the two governments fully recognised that without active participation of the legitimate and accredited leadership of the people of Kashmir, there could be no peaceful negotiated settlement of Kashmir issue.
