Two Militants Killed In Kulgam

Srinagar: Two militants of Hizbul Mujahideen were killed in an encounter with security forces in Kulgam-Pulwama belt of south Kashmir today. Informed sources said that on the basis of a specific information, SOG Kulgam, SOG Pulwama and troops of Rashtriya Rifles 62 Bn swooped on the house of one Mohammad Shafi Thokar at Padarpora in Kulgam- Pulwama belt today. During the search operation, an encounter took place between the holed up militants and armed forces. As the target house was destroyed in the gunbattle, two militants of Hizbul Mujahideen got killed. Slain militants were identified as Ayaz Ahmed Chopan S-o Mohammad Ramzan Thokar R-o Padarpora and Ulfat Mohammad from Budgam district. Sources said that on specific search of Tawarian forest, search party of 7-Bihar recovered one AK rifle, two AK magazines, 173 AK rounds, 2 pistols, 2 pistol magazines, 22 pistol rounds, 108 Pika ammunition, 2 UBGL, 6 rocket boosters, 2 anti tank rifle grenades, 2 hand grenades, 2 smoke grenades and other stores. In another incident, 7 Maratha LI, while carrying out search in general area Dragan Bahak, recovered 42 UBGL grenades and 30 hand grenades buried under a boulder.
