Militant Hideouts Busted In J&K

New Delhi: Army has recovered 35 kgs of explosives and large quantity of grenades and ammunition after unearthing three militant hideouts across Kashmir valley overnight. Acting on specific information, troops carried out a search for hidden cache of arms and ammunition at Lashpathri forest on Srinagar-Leh National Highway and recovered a pistol with a magazine, five rounds, eight UBGL grenades, 20 hand grenades, 28 rounds and ten kgs of explosive last evening, a defence spokesman said. In another search and destroy operation by troops of 35 Rashtriya Rifles, an underground hideout was unearthed where a pistol, its one magazine, five rounds, 493 rounds, two rounds of rocket propelled grenade, two RPG boosters, six hand grenades, six detonators and 25 kgs of explosives were recovered in Budgam district. The spokesman said in a similar operation launched by Two Para Nine, electric detonators and 47 rounds of ammunition was recovered from Putshai near Charkut in Kupwara district.
