Srinagar: A militant was killed and two army personnel were injured in separate incidents in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday even as ultras triggered an improvised explosive device blast on the Srinagar- Baramulla highway, a police spokesman said. An unidentified militant was gunned down by the Special Operations Group of the police at Kralpora in Kupwara district during the wee hours. One AK rifle, three magazines, 70 rounds and one pouch was recovered from his possession. A Subedar and a Rifleman of 28 Rashtriya Rifles were injured in a case of accidental firing caused due to mistaken identity during a search and cordon operation at Putushai-Lolab in Kupwara district. Militants triggered an IED blast near Nihalpora Link Road at Pattan in Baramulla district in the afternoon. The body of an abducted Special Police Officer (SPO) was found at Loktipora near Bijbehara in Anantnag district. SPO Bilal Ahmad Dar had been kidnapped by unidentified ultras during the intervening night on June 4 from his residence at Hassanpora Bagh in Kulgam district. The police has launched a hunt to apprehend the culprits, the spokesman added.
